Nowruz Celebration 

On Monday, 19 March 2012 from 9PM to 11PM at the Student Center the Central Eurasian and Middle East Studies Society (CESMES) will once again sponsor the Nowruz Celebration. The celebration of the Persian New Year features an array of Middle Eastern/Central Asian Food, Amir Vahab, Traditional Persian Musician, Modern Middle Eastern/Central Asian Dance Music. The Rise of Russian Civil Society: Virtual or Real”

On Tuesday, March 13 at 4 pm in Roscoe West 202, Dr. Mark Beissinger (Ph.D., Harvard), Professor of Political Science at Princeton University, award-winning author of books on Russian politics, will give a talk analyzing the Russian presidential election, the civil unrest in Russia, and the role of technology in the creation of a civil society in Russia:  ”The Rise of Russian Civil Society:  Virtual or Real.”

Heinle/Cengage will offer a symposium on 23 March 2012 from 8:00AM-4:00PM. It will provide lectures on “principles and practices”, “taxonomy and discovery” theories, “authentic communication” techniques for learning, and e-books and their evaluation.
